In 2005 Broadway gathered together a team of lay leaders to prayerfully and througoughly research and discern God call for our church. This team, which was called the "Joel Team", sensed God's call to initiate a multi-site church ministry and to pursue the acquisition of property.  The information from that process is available here.

After months of prayer, research, discernment and planning, Broadway has officially acted upon this vision God has given us. On May 17th, 2006 Greenwood UMC voted unanimously to merge with Broadway. On May 23rd, 2006 Broadway, through an overwhelming majority, voted to accept their merger. See the minutes from that meeting here. As of the close of Annual Conference on June 8th, Greenwood UMC will come under the umbrella of Broadway with all its members, assets and liabilities. As a church, we began planning the implementation of multi-site ministry.
